Local Community Building in Sandpoint

Introduced by: The Nameless One | Depth: Medium thread

The Nameless One's on-the-ground work in Sandpoint, Idaho — forming circles, running office hours at a coffee shop, and weaving local businesses into a regenerative network.

The Conversation

The Nameless One: "We have a cool local cohort of women here in Sandpoint, Idaho, that I have been building trust with, and who want this to happen, and are concerned about how it's going to impact their families."

The Women's Circles

Five women meeting regularly over two weeks. They've formed circles, started weekly meetings, and spawned a business circle:

The Nameless One: "5 core women already trust and resonate with each other. And then they asked me yesterday for something that they could share with all their friends to tell them about it."

Pete saw the fractal pattern immediately: "So then, they'll each have their own circles."

The Game Narrative

The Nameless One is simplifying complex systems research into an accessible format:

The Nameless One: "Taking all the complexity of tens of millions of dollars of systems research... simplifying it into a game narrative."

The game starts with sovereignty, moves through circle formation, then seasonal quests. It's "less threatening to some people than highly technical systems language about holofractal, cosmic-grade operating systems."

The University and Dojo

The group itself requested more structure:

The Nameless One: "This week, that emerging, self-governing social superorganism requested of itself that it wanted a place to learn about these patterns. Which is something like a university."

This became the Nameless University concept — with both learning (university) and practice (dojo) components. The Nameless One offered to teach the first class: "New Civilization 101," starting at the equinox.

Coffee Shop Office Hours

The Nameless One: "I've been holding office hours at a coffee shop the last few weeks, just for people who want to work on this to drop by."

Exchange Without Money

A local woman offered a trade:

The Nameless One: "A woman says, hey, I do this. How about instead of paying you, I'll hold space for your healing and offer you two sessions a month. And it's like, okay, great, I would way rather have that than money."
